Sour and Ras Al Ain

Today I spent all day in Tyre, or how it’s locally called “Sour.”

In the morning I explored the Souk, the Roman ruins, the port, and the historic part of this beautiful place in southern Lebanon. Sour has been a very important place already as port during Phenician times, was transformed by Alexander the Great, several times destroyed and invaded by hostile forces.

In the afternoon I went to visit Ras Al Ain, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ras_al-Ain,_Lebanon.

That’s a natural spring which supplies drinking water to some villages in the vicinity of Sour, and Sour itself. I was guided there by Hani, who I got referred to by some environmentalist contacts I got from Beirut.
